The Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Kvant Group will create the innovative scientific and technological center

This project will unite the efforts of scientific, industrial and educational organizations, build technological chains, identify critical technologies to be localized, and reduce the percentage of imports in the field of neutron and synchrotron technologies up to 30%.

The implementation of the scientific and technical program for the development of the neutron and synchrotron research is the starting point for transfering the results of fundamental science into the engineering applications and technological, through the cooperation of KVANT Group LLC and SB RAS.

Today, the Russian Federation on the leading positions in the field of development and creation of MEGA-class research complexes, using synchrotron and neutron radiation, as evidenced by active participation in projects such as XFEL, ESRF, creation of a unique Siberian ring photon source , the commissioning of the most high-power neutron source – RK PIK, the creation of the MBIR reactor, development of the Budker`s Institute of Nuclear Physics  in the field of synchrotron radiation generation and the creation of the nuclear medicine complexes and radiation diagnostics and therapy on the territory of the Russian Federation.

“The intensive development of synchrotron and neutron research methods in Russia is due to the approval the plans by the Russian Government of for the commissioning of Megasaens-class installations until 2030. It is important to note that an equivalent order in terms of volume has been carried out on the territory of the European Union for 40 years, since 1970. Now – the task should be solved within 10 years!” – Valentin Nikolaevich Parmon, Academician, Chairman of the SB RAS.

Reducing import dependence on important critically knowledge-intensive products is a crucial role in achieving these goals. An important fact that the high export potential of such technologies.

The approval of the federal scientific and technical program for the development of neutron and synchrotron research is the starting point for these problems.
